Chevy Silverado

There are many trim options when it comes to the Chevy Silverado. With three cab styles available, two bed lengths. four engines, and the choice of rear or all-wheel drive making a choice might be difficult. The largest V8 is not known for speed, but does have a lot of pulling power as a work vehicle. Trim levels include Work Truck, LS, LT, and Custom and LTZ can be added to the crew cab. The High-country trim is plush, and there is an off road oriented package as well. The Silverado has the highest towing capacity in its class, so it is a strong work truck. New this year is a standard rearview camera and automatic braking at low speeds is part of a safety tech package. There are also several appearance packages with the Silverado. The rear seat legroom is great in the crew cab, and there are creature comforts that may make you think you are in a sedan. A teen driver mode is standard on all models, and helps you keep track of how they are driving the truck.

Ford F-150

The Ford F150 had a mechanical refresh for 2017. The Ford V6 engine features 375 horses and 470 foot pounds of torque. A V8 is also available and both are highly rated in towing capacity. Ford also is introducing a 10-speed transmission that goes in all the F150 models. This truck is available in regular cab, super cab and super crew. There are two engines and three sizes of truck beds available. The basic trim is the XL which can be upgraded to the Limited, which is as luxurious as a Mercedes. All trims have forward collision warning, trailer sway control, along with anti-lock brakes.

Dodge Ram 1500

The 2017 Dodge Ram truck offers great versatility for a truck of this size. The latest version features a new coil spring rear suspension that makes the ride very smooth for a truck. In fact, the smooth ride is one of the things that make the Ram 1500 stand out among trucks of this size. The Outdoorsman trim level has also been eliminated. The Ram has not changed in several years, but still offers an impressive lineup of engines. It also has a turbo diesel available, and it performs as well as the gasoline engine. It has an easy to use infotainment center that is new this year, and standard for all models.
